Privacy Policy

The short version: Gear Bag Tracker stores all of your data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. The app does not require an account, does not connect to the internet, and does not contain advertising or analytics tracking.

1. Who this policy applies to

This Privacy Policy applies to the Gear Bag Tracker mobile application ("the App") published by Jaron Pirtle ("we," "us," or "our") on the Google Play Store. This policy describes how the App handles information when you use it.

2. Information we do not collect

Gear Bag Tracker is designed as an offline-only utility. We do not collect, transmit, store on remote servers, or share any of the following:

Personally identifiable information (name, email address, phone number)
Account credentials or login information (the App does not require an account)
Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or unique tracking IDs
Location data of any kind
Contacts, photos, calendar entries, or other on-device personal data
Usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry
Payment or financial information (the App is free and contains no in-app purchases)

3. Information stored on your device

The App stores the following information locally on your device using Android's standard application storage:

Gear inventory entries you create (such as brand, model, type, status, and notes)
Optional usage notes you choose to add to gear entries

This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to us or to any third party. If you uninstall the App, this data is permanently deleted along with the App.

4. Permissions

The App does not request any Android runtime permissions. It does not access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, or any other protected resources.

5. Third-party services

The App does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or backend providers. No third party receives data from the App.

6. Children's privacy

The App is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because the App does not collect any personal information, it is fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by design.

7. Data security

Because all data stays on your device, the security of that data depends on the security of your device itself. We recommend keeping your device's operating system updated and using a screen lock to protect your information.

8. Your rights

You have full control over all data created in the App. You may view, edit, or delete any gear entry at any time from within the App. You may also delete all App data by uninstalling the App from your device.

Because we do not collect or store any of your information on our servers, there is no data for us to provide, modify, or delete on your behalf.

9. Changes to this policy

If the App's data practices change in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be reflected in the App's release notes on the Google Play Store.
